about
I'm a San Francisco food and portrait photographer. I first got into photography in college while getting a degree in painting. The potential of turning light, shapes, and moments into art was intoxicating and I was instantly hooked.
After graduating I dove right in, skipping the usual assisting route. Deadlines turned out to be effective teachers. Over the years I've honed my skills and learned there's nothing I love more than storytelling with texture, light, color and shapes.
I love bold graphic statements that also surprise. I like to find the personality in everything, including food and products. I love opposites, gritty elegance, details and panoramas. I'll happily spend hours finding the most interesting angle, light, or moment. There's nothing I'd rather do. Except eat chocolate.
Some of my clients include Sierra Magazine, San Francisco Magazine, Oakland Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, the American Medical Association, Peerless Coffee, MyFoodMyHealth.com, Peets Coffee, Stanford University, Ten Speed Press and Skipstone Press.
